What To Expect at IPTA

We know your time is valuable and your child's care is important. If you are considering starting services with IPTA, here is a look at what you can expect:

Step 1: Getting Started

You may choose to learn more about services with a free 15 minute-screening, or you may feel ready to jump straight to a full evaluation with one of our providers. A free screening may be scheduled by calling our front desk, no insurance or referral required. An evaluation will require a doctor referral outlining the services being requested.

Step 3: Evaluation

Evaluations are anywhere from 30-90 minutes depending on your child's need and the therapy service. Both caregiver and child are required to be at the evaluation in order for our providers to complete the evaluation process. At the evaluation, you will learn if your child qualifies for therapy and what skill areas will be targeted.

Step 5: Treatment

Our providers all work diligently to create individualized care plans and treatment activities to meet your child's needs. You may talk with your provider to determine if it is appropriate to have a caregiver present for treatment sessions.

Step 2: Initial Intake

Once a referral is received, our patient care coordinators will call you to schedule an evaluation. They will send you intake paperwork to complete prior to your evaluation date.

Step 4: Scheduling

If your child qualifies for one or multiple therapies, our patient care coordinators will work with you to find a consistent appointment time that you can plan to attend for the duration of your child's care. Therapy may be recommended anywhere from 1x/month to 3x/week for 30-60 minute sessions. We do our best to accommodate scheduling needs and align therapies to minimize your weekly appointments.

Step 6: Discharge

Once your child has met all therapy goals or has stopped making progress in therapy, your provider will discuss discharge from therapy. Graduating therapy is always our ultimate goal for our patients and should be celebrated!
